Hi Ami! I was in a deep funk last nite about the hipsterly nature of much contemporary cartoon design, and the fear that I could not compete with such clinical slickness. But the elasticity and funny, genuinely felt expressions of your characters in Basilisk lifted my spirits. The big guy's face on impact (at 1:01) is particularly hilarious! And all over this blog, too, your designs are appealing, sincere, and extremely alive. You inspire me to greater heights. Thanks for sharing your work!! If you are not employed now I hope that happens as soon as possible. If I might ask, what software did you use to animate and/or color this film? I semi-cleaned up my senior film carefully on paper, but now I'm using Toon Boom to color the characters and the sloppy vectorization is kicking my arse. O_oBest,Mike
That was awesome Ami! What software did you use to animate traditionally?
